Contact us by phone, email or the online contact form to chat with one of our Schools Advisors. They will listen to your interests and requirements and suggest various options for you to consider. Some teachers have a very clear idea of what they are after; others just know they want to do something. Whichever category you fall into, our advisors are here to help make your school trip plans a reality.
Absolutely! Our advisors will suggest destinations based on your aims, interests, budget, dates and learning outcomes. Contact an advisor today to get the ball rolling.
We aim to take as much stress out of organising and running trips as possible, allowing you to relax and enjoy the experience. Having said that, we’ll need some input in terms of ideas and goals, and will also need your help arranging the launch and meetings and chasing forms from students.
For the duration of the trip you’ll be accompanied by one of our experienced Expedition Leaders. They will take all responsibility for the safe and smooth running of the trip, and will sit down with you each evening to review and plan for the day ahead. Your primary role will be providing pastoral care and acting in loco parentis.
We have been running expeditions for school groups for 27 years. This experience helps us deliver unique and unforgettable travel experiences.
Our Expedition Leaders receive an intensive four month training course in all aspects of planning and safely running a group trip. They are friendly, personable and have expert local knowledge.
Yes. The destinations listed on our site are the most popular for school groups but our experience and extensive industry network allows us to organise trips to almost anywhere on the planet (within reason!). Contact one of our advisors to learn more.
Yes. Typically we offer a free teacher place for every eight paying students, but we can adjust this if required.
The minimum age of students we can organise trips for is 12 years and the maximum is 18, but the vast majority of groups consist of students from 15 to 17 years old. Some of our trips may not be suitable for children under 15 so be sure to check with an advisor.
Of course! An advisor would be happy to visit your school to discuss your plans in more detail.
All school trips involve more risk than staying at home. Our adventurous programmes involve more risk than a typical holiday and local safety standards may be lower than those at home. But we and our partners have expert leaders in every location, undertake careful risk assessments and always work to make a program safer than independent travel. We follow the strict industry guidelines laid out in BSI 8848: “Specifications for visits, fieldwork, expeditions and adventurous activities outside the UK.”
Make sure you read our Terms and Conditions prior to booking and request a risk assessment for your program. Read more about our commitment to your group’s safety.
As each proposal is tailor-made, exactly what’s included varies form trip to trip. Typically we include comprehensive pre-departure support, a Gapforce Expedition Leader, accommodation, three meals per day, activities as agreed, a free teacher place per eight paying students, in-country transfers, local support staff, 24 hour emergency back-up, an evacuation plan and a T-shirt for each participant.
We can also arrange flights, airport transfers and travel insurance through our travel industry partners, so that you can have a single point of contact at Gapforce for the entire set of arrangements.
Your proposal will include a clear list of what is and isn’t included in the quoted price.
What an outstanding ten days we had in Tanzania. From the moment we arrived in Arusha to the moment we left everything was exceptionally well planned and executed. The organisation put into place by Gapforce was exemplary; every activity was well thought out.
Morocco was fantastic. Thanks so much for all the help and support given by Gapforce in the lead up to the trip, as well as the leadership given by Madoc and the support of Vicky when we were out there. The students had an amazing time and are buzzing about it still.
